The proper role of government in this American First economy is not to spend the people on Main Street into oblivion. Government’s proper role—consistent with the conservative principles of free enterprise, limited government, and individual freedom—is to unleash the creativity of the private sector. Americans need high paying, skills-based jobs, and they need them now. President Donald J. Trump and the Republican Congress have passed the Tax Reform Bill, which is the first step to do just that. More needs to be done, quickly.
We never think a crime can happen to us, until it actually does. The United States is great because we are a nation of laws. Security is one of the defining aspects of any rule of law, and a fundamental function of the state, meaning; crime is effectively controlled, civil conflict is effectively limited, and people do not resort to violence to redress personal grievances. I support President Trump's Executive Order, “designed to restore safety in America,” to “break the back” of cartels and to "stop violence" against the police.
I am a strong advocate for great public schools as well as for school choice. Parents no longer believe that a one-size-fits-all model of learning meets the needs of every child. And they know that other educational options exist, whether magnet, virtual, charter, home, faith-based, or any combination. Yet, too many parents are denied access to the full range of options. I will fight to ensure that our children receive a 21st century, globally competitive, level of education, for our children deserve nothing less!
