Security, Education and Jobs!

ADDRESSING SECURITY & RECIDIVISM

SAFE AND HEALTHY NEIGHBORHOODS!

Security

Long gone are the days where all the neighborhood kids played kick-the can in the middle of the street on summer nights. Securing our neighborhoods, hiring more police to reduce crime is reactionary.

I believe that in order to be proactive in solving crime, the intact family nucleus; where a child receives instructions, love and assurance, is the key to preventing crime and delinquency.

It is imperative to implement plans to revitalize communities and reduce crime. These plans should engage residents, community and faith-based organizations, and local government agencies in addressing the factors that contribute to the community's crime, delinquency, and disorder.

If elected, I would work to:
* Implement supply reduction program to aid in illegal drug control.
* Implement effective, community-based youth intervention
* Recognize the impact of gangs vs. family in the lives of the youth
* Develop alternative activities and employment opportunities for youths

Key Steps to Reducing Recidivism
* Providing prisoners access to financial aid for college/trade school tuition
* Implement programs to help ex-offenders find secure living-wage employment

21TH CENTURY EDUCATED WORKFORCE

SCHOOL CHOICE AND DIVERSITY

Education
Public Education resources should be redirected to the schools which will best fit the child's need, whether it is the public, private, charter, magnet, religious or home schooling. Educational supervision should be brought back to local communities.

When I graduated from high school, there was an emphasis on vocational and technical education. Career and technical education is needed to provide a foundation of skills that enable high school students to be gainfully employed after graduation--either full-time or while continuing their education and/or training.

ECONOMIC GROWTH

REAL, HIGHER PAYING JOBS AND HIGHER TAKE HOME PAY

  •

  • Jobs..Jobs...Jobs
To help unleash the private sector to invest and create jobs, Congress should promptly take five specific actions:

  • Enact the pro-growth Tax Reforms
    Free America's energy resources
Grant effective smart, bi-lateral trade negotiating authority
    Stop excessive government regulations
End the artificially high pricing of labor for federal construction projects under the Davis-Bacon
  • Act and government-mandated project labor agreements.
